Family Fund Management
Many philanthropists will tell you that they were surprised by how difficult it is to give money away well.
We have an ongoing relationship with a family fund to collaborate with them to refine their strategy, to identify organizations in their region who do impactful work that aligns with their mission, and to manage their grant making process.
Program Development - Nonprofit Incubator
A foundation identified that several of its grantees were experiencing a common challenge -- they were small projects with great programmatic ideas, but the leaders had limited experience running a non-profit.
To better serve the wider field, the nonprofit decided to establish a nonprofit incubator to provide capacity building services, including fiscal sponsorship.
Steinberg Consulting mapped the field to determine what resources currently exist for fiscal sponsorship and capacity building, developed the initial infrastructure for the incubator, launched the fiscal sponsorship program, and designed and piloted an organizational capacity assessment tool and accompanying coaching program.
Coaching New Philanthropic Professionals
A grantmaking nonprofit created a fellowship to help diversify the pipeline of philanthropy professionals.
We provided one on one coaching to select fellows, focusing on the professional skills each fellow wanted to develop, as well as providing guidance around their career objectives.
